How to Make Your Own Laundry Soap from Natural Soap Flakes
 
Ingredients:
1 cup of natural soap flakes (from Apothecary-Soaps)
5 cups of hot water
Optional: 1/2 cup of Borax (for extra stain-fighting power)
Optional: 1/2 cup of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (to boost cleaning power)
 
Instructions:
Melt the Soap Flakes: In a large pot, add 5 cups of hot water and stir in 1 cup of natural soap flakes. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the soap has fully melted into the water.
Add Boosters (Optional): If you need extra cleaning power, stir in 1/2 cup of Borax and 1/2 cup of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda. This combination helps break down tough stains and dirt while remaining safe for delicate fabrics.
Cool and Store: Let the mixture cool, then pour it into a container with a lid (like a mason jar or an old detergent bottle). The soap will gel up a bit, but that's normal!
Use It: For each load, shake or stir the homemade liquid soap and use about 1/4 to 1/2 cup (depending on the size of your load and how soiled the clothes are).
